Part One: Lena's Fall & Colt's Magic

The Black Hills series created a bunch of firsts for me as an author and as a person. If you have been to the Black Hills of South Dakota, it's immediately apparent that it is beautiful. There's something intoxicating about being outdoors under tall pine trees and the wide open sky above. There is also a beauty in a family that loves, honors, protects, and fights for what they feel is important. Love. The Johnson Family has characteristics of my own family as well as some that I wish everyone to experience. No struggle is too tough that family can't pull through.

If you have been following me on Facebook, you'll know that there will be four novellas that present the futures of the lesser characters in the BH books. The first two novellas will publish November 6. Some of my readers might groan at seeing Lena McCoy again. Lena has her own secrets and I think she'll win you over in the end. Colt Cavanaugh was a wild card as to what would happen between him, Nora and their son, Drew. He deserved his happy ending too.

Here's the synopsis for the first two novellas. Watch for future posts with the first chapter of each novella. PreOrder is available on major outlets for $0.99!

Lena McCoy starts out as the heart throb and near-fiancé of Garrett Johnson. Being young and a touch wild, Lena turns down Garrett and follows the rodeo circuit instead. She marries the next bull riding world champion only to find that she married a man who wouldn't stand beside her when the bottom fell out of her world. She never imagined a damaged soldier would walk into her life and want to sweep her off her feet.

Colt Cavanaugh is the father of Drew Johnson, Nora's son. He has made a big name for himself as a prince of Country music. Finding out that he had a boy for several years has left him with a void to fill. He wants to get to know his son and show him a world that Colt escapes to when his career gets too heavy. Colt has no idea that his foreman's sister could capture his heart so completely, but can a country girl take on the big city?
